These two beautiful artworks have approximately the same dimensions, and complement each other perfectly (The dimensions and weight in the table above refer to each piece). As a special offer, we add another handpainted artwork - Anubis - to your shipment for free, if you order Nefertiti and Tutankhamun together. This offer will be available for a few weeks only, as a celebration of the release of our new website.

The relief portrait carving to the left features Queen Nefertiti presenting an offering of lotus flowers and an unguent jar to the sun god Aton. Aton was the disc of the sun whose rays terminated in human hands offering the beneficent symbol of life and fertility (ankh) wherever the ray came closest to the nose of the devotee. Although the complete image of Aton is not present here, one of his rays offer the inverted ankh as the breath of life. Read more about Nefertiti.

n the other relief sculpture, Tutankhamun wears the traditional Nemes head cloth surmounted by a uraeus or cobra-an exclusive protective adornment of kings, queens and gods. He also carries the ceremonial flail. The actual flail he carried was found in his tomb and made of gilded wood with solid gold cascades of the bell like segments. The flail was based on a much earlier version of a fly whisk which must have been a royal prerogative at the dawn of Egyptian civilisation. Read more about Tutankhamun.
