Egyptian Reliefs
he
master pieces for these beautiful Egyptian reliefs are created by
either using 'bas relief', a technique where the background is chiselled
from around the images, or by applying 'relief en croix' or sunken
relief where the background is left intact while the image is modelled
below the surface plane of the rock. Examples for 'bas relief' are
the works 'King Tutankhamun and Queen Ankhesenamun' and 'Eye of
Horus', whereas 'Rameses', 'Nefertari' and other art works are created
by using the 'relief en croix' technique. You can read more about
the artist, and
about the way he creates these master pieces on our
workshop page, or have a look at his sculptures.
ince
these art works are all individually hand-crafted, there may be
minor variations in colour or size. The approximate measurements
for each artwork are listed below. We strongly urge you to click
on the photos for a larger image, to reveal the meticulous attention
to detail that makes the work look as though you have just unearthed
it from an archaeological site.
